Over 50 hours of video footage was shot during the 2004, 2005 expedition.  The film, The Last Treasure Hunt, featuring much of the footage shot, is currently in production by Sourdough Studios.

Welcome to DutchHunter.com, the Official Website of the Historic Exploration And Treasures (H.E.A.T.) Archaeological Excavation of

The Lost Spanish Mine

THE GOALS:

1)   To prove that the Spanish had mining operations north of the Gila River long before the mid 1800s.

2)   To recover bullion that an historic unpublished manuscript suggests the original miners secreted away in the

mine circa 1848.

The Lost Spanish Mine is believed to be one of the Peralta mines and one of the sources of Jacob Waltz's gold and the Legend of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine, the most famous lost mine in the world.  Also, evidence uncovered during the expedition suggests that the mine site may also be the location of the legendary Geronimo's Ransom Cave.

At present, the archaeological site deep within the Superstition Mountains is guarded 24 hours a day and only authorized personnel know its exact location and are allowed on site.
